An Interior Illumination with mental ray and 3D Studio Max 2010 video lesson.
We are excited to offer our first extensive video lessons to the community. The combined lessons offer 2 hours of video training in 1280x960px quick time format. The downloads also contain the 3D Studio Max 2010 files at the state of each respective tutorial.
If you purchase both of these lessons for 20USD we will offer you a discount of 20USD applied to your first hour with our sister site http://www.mavenseed.com with Alessandro Cangelosi.
In this first download exclusive video tutorial we'll show how to use Mental Ray rendering engine and how to use it to setup an interior illumination. In the 1st part we'll see general parameters to simulate daylight illumination inside a closed environment, using Final Gather, and then photon map GI, in a very simple way. Then we take a loot at MR Sun & Physical Sky, and how to use the MR Photographic Exposure to control the illumination of the rendered image. Some basically information about anti-aliasing algorithm are given.

In the Part 2, we try to follow the Part 1 topics to create a more complex interior with some furniture inside, trying to simulate some photo realistic materials also, using Arch&Design shaders, at the end of this part we see how to move from daylight illumination to night time, and during all the duration we get some tips and tricks about MR and 3ds max in general.
